It’s very clearly a stunt ad, so calibrate your reactions accordingly. But still. Gross. Bissell Canada wants us to believe that they believe in their all-in-one steam cleaner and vacuum so much that they’ll eat off any surface that it cleans. Even if it’s a gross, mucky, grimy subway floor.
A senior brand manager for Bissell was the poor sap who had to do this. He vacuums a square, dumps food directly onto it and chows down. But since it’s an ad, the subway station used in the spot is one that’s meant for filming and not exactly in regular use for commuters. It’s still gross, but it’s gross, marketed.
I want to see the video of him the day after. That’d make a good ad for beds, bathrooms and hospitals I bet.
